An Original Cinematic Immersive Experience in Virtual Reality Inspired by Melville\u2019s Novel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As part of the exhibition Moby Dick \u2013 The Whale. History of a Myth from Antiquity to Contemporary Art<\/em>, hosted in the Doge\u2019s Apartment of Palazzo Ducale in Genoa from October 12, 2025, to February 15, 2026, WAY Experience<\/strong> presents MOBY DICK EXPERIENCE<\/em>: an original cinematic immersive experience in Virtual Reality<\/strong>, inspired by Herman Melville\u2019s masterpiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lasting approximately 15 minutes and powered by cutting-edge technology, the experience is offered at the end of the exhibition in a specially designed room. Visitors will be transported aboard the Pequod<\/em> to relive key moments from the novel \u2014 from life on the ship and encounters with the legendary White Whale, to the dramatic final showdown between Captain Ahab and Moby Dick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marco Pizzoni, CEO of WAY Experience, explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The challenge of Moby Dick VR was to take R&D to the next level, integrating detailed Metahumans, complex and customized animations through AI-driven Motion Capture, lip sync, and synchronized audio in dialogue scenes. This allowed us to turn the characters into true narrative tools, capable of interacting with each other and their environment \u2014 making the experience vivid and immersive.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

WAY Experience<\/strong> is a Cultural and Creative Enterprise (CCE) specializing in the creation and production of Virtual Reality experiences. Recently supported by an investment from GDA Impact<\/strong> \u2014 an impact investing program promoted by FSVGDA<\/strong> and Fondazione Cariplo<\/strong> \u2014 WAY aims to enhance cultural heritage by transforming it into engaging, immersive experiences that offer new growth opportunities for cultural institutions.
Through a refined blend of storytelling, technology, and research, WAY creates emotional maps that guide users on immersive journeys capable of generating wonder, knowledge, and lasting memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WAY\u2019s productions have been selected and recognized at major international events focused on cultural immersive innovation. Its recent projects include immersive rediscoveries of the Duomo and Catacombs of Syracuse<\/strong>, the Archaeological Area of Agrigento<\/strong>, and iconic landmarks such as the Duomo of Milan<\/strong> and Brunelleschi\u2019s Dome<\/strong> in Florence.
Other notable experiences include projects on the Vittoriale degli Italiani<\/strong>, You Are Leo<\/em>, Caravaggio VR Experience<\/em>, You Are Verdi<\/em>, and Inside Monet<\/em>. The project dedicated to Marco Polo<\/strong> was named one of the five finalists for the AWE Auggie Awards<\/strong> in the Best Art or Film<\/em> category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is developed in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/strong> and was presented in China as part of the exhibition Il Milione. Journey of Knowledge<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
